Time In Place: Northwest Art From The Permanent Collection

The Hallie Ford Museum of Art. Salem, OR

September 18 – December 18, 2021

The Hallie Ford Museum of Art Fall exhibition titled Time and Place: Northwest Art from the Permanent Collection.

This link provides information about the exhibition and a list of all the artists included.

The exhibition asks visitors to consider the concept of place through the lens of time. It is organized into 6 sections - 2 thematic sections - one on the legacy of conquest and Native persistence and another on human impact on the land. There are also 4 geographical sections - the Columbia River Gorge, the High Desert, the Pacific Coast, and the Willamette Valley.

This is the first large scale exhibition that has been curated entirely from the museum's permanent collection and there are many works on view that have not been exhibited at the museum before.

This link is to a virtual 3-d tour of the exhibition. The link will be added to the exhibition webpage in the next few days.

If you have any questions about the exhibition please let me know. And if any of you have a chance to visit the museum during the run of the show (it opened in September and is up until December 18th), please let me know. I'd love to have a chance to look at the exhibition with you.
